UpCycled

Somewhere along our pasts come to meet us, again and again. I often go on about the fantastic people in my life, and my past, and the history and experiences we have together having dynamic if not levels of vibrancy in our own personal growth. Years ago I met Christina and was lucky enough to spend a lot of time getting to know her before she moved back out east. Years went by, and as one could imagine, we re-connected through Facebook and ideas were passed on for a Mothers gift, so she could share her creations to the World. Creating a logo that represents taking action, yet keeping a simple, elegance in relationship to bike products being passed on by previous users was a tricky one, but, like the energy cycling can bring to ones soul, I got switched on, it all made sense!

*A mother-daughter team on a mission!
Everyone has passion. My mothers happens to be creating all forms of art. Her travels have brought much inspiration to her work throughout her life-long career. Her recent rendezvous to Jamaica have brought her a new love of up-cycling EVERYTHING! Bicycle inner tubes are often discarded by bike shops to end up in a land fill, but this durable, soft, leather-like materialis perfect for her latest obsession... UPCYCLE Couture!

Good things come in 3's

It's kinda fun when you can finish off a great ride with a beer, wearing shirt, and lean up against a beam in one of your favourite Pubs, and say you designed for all three:) First time I can actually say this since designing:) NSMBA fortified trails, Raven Skate Shop T-shirt and Storm Brewery flavour all in one place at the Raven Pub in Deep Cove.

Raven Skate Shop shoot

Awhile ago I Had a great person to help me along with my casual modeling needs. We spent the day taking snaps for some clothing of mine that was never photographed before, and since I was building up Web content, it was badly needed. This was over a year and a half now, and I Only just got around to a Blog;) I do admit, my photography skills are not up to par for doing such work so I think the next time I need to do this, I will hire a professional.

My Friends Erik and Jayelle once owned Raven Skate Shop in Tofino, Bc. It ran for about 3-4 years and was/ is very well known. I did all the basic file set ups and some design for them and they produced a lot of clothing, some of which i was able to get, some not. In the attempts to create a web site with a variety of products i have deigned for over the years I delayed the creation due to a continuous workload, not something i will mistakenly do again.

The above pictures are just some of the shoot, the tree was a fantastic find, what with it's rich winding roads catching anything it grew into. The last quartered layout was for a booklet i was going to surprise Erik and Jayelle with, but they shut the doors before i was able to give it to them.

Overall, the Raven project was a joy and I was glad to have worked with Raven and the team that I also get to enjoy as close talented friends.

Hot Night in the City 2008

Client: Ron Popov
Product: Poster art, T-shirt and plaques
Name: Hot Night in the City
Year: 2008

While living in Kamloops and working for Visual Signs and Awards I was able to design all the visuals for marketing  and award items. Not much for a budget as the organizer basically operates this as a special interest non profit event, but it was rather fun to see all the classic cars in such amazing shape. there were many concepts made and all pretty different as for styles, but in the end, the classic rock style won the round.
