Stormy Growlers..

The Site.

 The trimmings

The long 3 layer journey

The details

La fin
So over the last few weeks a project has been in the works and it was a slow arduous process that finished with great result. Unique to my normal clean designs, this one was raw, made of wood, steel and lots of labour, and not only mine. It was with metal work and laser work from Storm sources. With having my day job, and not able to take on the full install, it left for the Culture Crawl deadline of November the 15, 2013, which meant Storm Brewery to take on the complicated task of installing the sign themselves, in the stormy weather the wet coast is known for. Perfect for branding and it's namesake yes:)

So, with interests, pull up and grab a growler, you won't be sorry:)

UpCycled

Somewhere along our pasts come to meet us, again and again. I often go on about the fantastic people in my life, and my past, and the history and experiences we have together having dynamic if not levels of vibrancy in our own personal growth. Years ago I met Christina and was lucky enough to spend a lot of time getting to know her before she moved back out east. Years went by, and as one could imagine, we re-connected through Facebook and ideas were passed on for a Mothers gift, so she could share her creations to the World. Creating a logo that represents taking action, yet keeping a simple, elegance in relationship to bike products being passed on by previous users was a tricky one, but, like the energy cycling can bring to ones soul, I got switched on, it all made sense!

*A mother-daughter team on a mission!
Everyone has passion. My mothers happens to be creating all forms of art. Her travels have brought much inspiration to her work throughout her life-long career. Her recent rendezvous to Jamaica have brought her a new love of up-cycling EVERYTHING! Bicycle inner tubes are often discarded by bike shops to end up in a land fill, but this durable, soft, leather-like materialis perfect for her latest obsession... UPCYCLE Couture!

They work with government, business and individuals to conserve our environment by providing science-based education, advocacy and policy work, and acting as a catalyst for the social change that today's situation demands.

Their top goals:
  • Protecting our climate — ensure that Canada is doing its fair share to avoid dangerous climate change and is on track to achieve a safe level of greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Transforming the economy— make certain that Canadians can maintain a high quality of life within the finite limits of nature through efficient resource use.
    • Protecting nature — work to protect the diversity and health of Canada’s marine, freshwater, and terrestrial creatures and ecosystems.
      • Reconnecting with nature— ensure that Canadians, especially youth, learn about their dependence on a healthy environment through outdoor education.
        • Building community — engage Canadians to live healthier, more fulfilled and just lives with tips on building Earth-friendly infrastructure, making smart energy choices, using efficient transportation, and being mindful of the products, food and water we use.
